How do I get started in email marketing?

I’ve had a few websites for awhile now. I’ve done the yahoo sponsor search, google adwords, and everything else out there. After learning about email marketing I believe I could have my best sucess with this. I’m not trying to sell anything I’m just trying to get people to join my social network website (writers). So what I need to know is how do I get started? Where do I find email lists? What’s that best free program I can use to send bulk emails? I’m not trying to invest any money in this so I need to know free ways to do this (I know about the pay ways). So if anybody knows anything please let me know because I need my website to grow faster.

I’ve heard aweber has a great record of helping bulk emails get through spam filters so your readers actually have a good chance of reading your content.

Constant content is another good company. They have great email templates, a user friendly interface, and outstanding customer service.

I believe they offer free trials, but then you will have to pay a small monthly fee- about $15/month.

    Good luck.

Finding a good, free source for email marketing might be difficult these days. A good and affordable company who provides this service is ConsumerBase – http://www.consumerbase.com.

There are a ton of resources online. I found a page that gives advice for beginners, answers a lot of questions, and provides good resources. Hope this helps and good luck!
